About The Position

This position is for a Relief Operator in the Culture department, PM shift, at the Lakeland Dairy facility. The role involves performing various tasks within the department, maintaining cleanliness, adhering to regulatory guidelines, and covering for other associates during breaks, lunches, and absences. The operator will also assist on the production floor, understand equipment maintenance, and potentially help with administrative duties. A key aspect of the role is driving improvements in department and plant operations, promoting Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety, and interacting effectively with colleagues and leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Must demonstrate safe working habits
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds frequently
  • Must obtain license and operate forklift
  • Must be able to learn and perform all positions
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have good human relations skills (the ability to work well with others and be a team player)
  • Must be able to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Must be willing to assist team members in other areas
  • Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Must possess basic math skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

  • Performing all positions within the department as needed
  • Maintaining housekeeping
  • Following all regulatory guidelines
  • Relieving Culture department associates of their responsibilities for breaks, lunches, and days off
  • Covering positions for unplanned absences
  • Assisting on the production floor
  • Understanding maintenance of equipment and performing preventative maintenance
  • Assisting in administrative and other office duties
  • Leading and driving improvements of department and plant operations
  • Promoting Good Manufacturing Practices and safety in the department
  • Interacting with associates and leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
