This position will require an individual who takes pride and ownership in his/her work and is willing to accept total responsibility for the performance of the oven operation. This individual’s key role is to operate the oven and de-panning equipment to meet product quality specifications. To perform all the various job tasks included in the production of bread and rolls.

Requirements

  • Safety conscience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of general warehouse / production work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English.
  • Ability to write routine quality assurance reports and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Attends to the roll dividing equipment to straighten out the dough balls in pans or trays to meet product specifications.
  • Attends to the bread rounding equipment to place dough balls into pie tins to meet product specifications.
  • Supplies other employees with empty pie tins.
  • Monitors conveyors for jams, clears jams safely.
  • Inspects products for damage or for conformity to specifications. Notifies Supervisor of any non-conformance of product.
  • Pushes material or products between machines or departments on dolly.
  • Picks up pans from dolly, and places them onto conveyor, or removes them from conveyor and places them on dolly.
  • Moves pans, racks, and dollies to or from area.
  • Starts or stops conveyors by pushing buttons on a control panel.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized by picking up debris, sweeping the floor, wiping down the equipment and other sanitation jobs assigned.
  • Attends box former by starting and stopping machine when necessary, keeping magazine full, and clearing jams safely.
  • Helps mixer by opening boxes or bags of ingredients and loading them into mixers, hoppers, or feeders.
  • Performs other tasks that may arise in the production area after appropriate training.
  • Helps in training of new employees or employees who change job classifications.
  • Reports all equipment problems to the foreman or supervisor immediately.
  • Promotes safety in the work area by understanding and complying with safety procedures and reporting all incidents in a timely manner.

  • Plans and carries out job assignments without creating hazards to yourself and other employees.
