About The Position
CityVet Alexandria King Street is hiring a relief Associate Veterinarian for a Hybrid GP + Urgent Care role that combines interesting medical cases with the ability to build long-term client relationships while maintaining excellent work-life balance. This role is ideal for veterinarians who enjoy diagnostic problem solving, urgent care medicine, and collaborative team environments. The hospital offers comprehensive veterinary services including preventive and wellness care, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, urgent care services, and advanced diagnostics. The hybrid model creates a dynamic and rewarding caseload, seeing a mix of scheduled GP wellness and sick visits, urgent care walk-in cases, soft tissue surgeries, and medical workups and diagnostics. This allows for practice of engaging, high-quality medicine while avoiding burnout associated with traditional ER schedules.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent
- Licensed in Virginia, or eligible for licensure
- Interest in General Practice and/or Urgent Care medicine
- Collaborative mindset and commitment to excellent patient care
Responsibilities
- See a mix of scheduled GP wellness and sick visits
- Handle urgent care walk-in cases
- Perform soft tissue surgeries
- Conduct medical workups and diagnostics
- Collaborate on cases and share knowledge with a network of veterinarians
