This position involves general inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance of all types of HVAC, electrical, lighting, fire, life, safety, and facility systems. The role also provides additional facility maintenance services including carpentry, plumbing, painting, snow removal, and CMMS system data entry to maintain the client’s building infrastructure and grounds in a commercial office facility. The Relief Engineer will perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing of facility systems and equipment, utilizing the CMMS to document tasks and maintain equipment histories. The role requires adherence to national and local codes, OSHA, and company safety policies, and involves working cooperatively with teams, other employees, and customer representatives. The position may require coordinating with external vendors and performing other assigned tasks by the supervisor/manager. A daily survey of buildings to identify repair and preventive maintenance tasks is expected, with regular reporting to the supervisor/manager on general operations. The role also emphasizes continuous learning and professional development in advancing technology, safety, and skill improvement. Availability for on-call duty on nights, weekends, and holidays for emergencies is required, along with possible flexible hours to accommodate client needs.
