About The Position

The Adrian Dominican Sisters are seeking a Full Time Relief Cook/Dining Room Aide to join their team at the Motherhouse Campus in Adrian, MI. This role involves working in clean, professional, and food-safe kitchens, preparing meals for the Sisters. Responsibilities include providing dining room assistance, occasionally filling in for the cook, serving large batch meals according to the chef's menu in a buffet-style dining room, taking temperatures of freezers and coolers, and prepping food items for scratch-made meals.

Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years cooking experience required.
  • Large batch cooking experience required.
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use quantity cooking equipment.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of personalities.
  • Ability to deal with some stress provoking factors associated with a broad base of people and time constraints.
  • Possess service oriented attitude.
  • Exhibits superior level of expertise in food preparation, and is able to pass knowledge on to other staff through interaction.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk up to 8-hours per day.
  • Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, and carry approximately 35 pounds.
  • Must be sighted and capable of hearing.
  • Annual influenza vaccination is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience cooking in healthcare environment preferred.
  • A High School diploma is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dining room assistance.
  • Occasionally fill in for the cook.
  • Serve large batch meals as determined by the chef's menu in a large buffet style dining room.
  • Take temperatures of all the freezers and coolers.
  • Prep food menu items for home-cooked, mostly scratch meals.
