About The Position

The Calgary Alternative Day Options (CADO) program is a community-based day program serving adults with disabilities. The program occurs in inclusive settings which allow natural interaction with a variety of people. Clients can choose to do one or more of the following: self employment, volunteering, recreation & leisure. For each of these options, clients are supported to set goals, develop new skills, and create natural supports within the community. The Relief III provides quality design and delivery within the Calgary Alternative Day Options Program (CADO). The Relief III is responsible for ensuring that program content and delivery processes conform to a high ethical standard, exemplary standards of practice, the Mission, Vision and Mandate of the Agency and the requirements of funding contracts. They also ensure that models of support are developed and provided to clients utilizing best practices and individualized planning.

  • A current Basic First Aid/Emergency First Aid certification that includes CPR/AED
  • A current Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search that is satisfactory to CASS. Additionally, all employees have an ongoing duty to disclose any charges or convictions that may occur during their employment with CASS

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in supporting adults with developmental disabilities preferred
  • A vehicle and valid driver's license are considered assets

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a positive professional working relationship with client guardians and client supports where applicable
  • Provide direct support to a caseload of clients
  • Develop Individual Support Plans (ISP) that are individualized and based on specific client needs, desires and goals
  • Ensure client preferences are reached to the fullest extent possible
  • Collaborate/communicate with family, guardians, and other necessary professionals
  • Support relationships between clients, their support network and other community members
  • Input case notes into CASS database; PEAK
  • Research community resources that can help support the client’s current desires and needs
  • Design and delivery of day services
  • Ensure program content and delivery processes conform to a high ethical standard, exemplary standards of practice, the Mission, Vision and Mandate of the Agency and the requirements of funding contracts
  • Ensure all documentation is submitted in a timely manner
  • Participate in staff meetings when required
  • Maintain all mandatory training
  • Participating individual service plans
  • Provide regular updates regarding any changes/concerns pertaining to the caseload of clients
  • Model and demonstrate CASS values in all interactions with clients, staff and community
  • Demonstrate respect and collaboration with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate an ability and willingness to give and receive honest, balanced feedback
  • Conduct duties in a fair, ethical, transparent manner with honesty and integrity in accordance and familiarity with CASS Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics for Rehabilitation Professionals and other applicable professional bodies
