Reliability Tech D 1st Shift
About The Position
Shaw Industries is seeking a Reliability Technician D to join our team on first shift. This role is responsible for supporting the performance and reliability of equipment within assigned areas, ensuring optimal efficiency at the lowest reasonable cost. This position requires effective execution of assigned duties with a focus on: Maintaining safe work practices, Delivering high-quality, precise work with a strong customer service mindset, Following established standards and best practices, Continuously expanding knowledge of maintenance processes and equipment performance, Providing feedback and contributing ideas for improvement.
Requirements
- Familiarity with safety practices (LOTO, PPE, confined space, fall protection, rigging, PIT, hot work)
- Basic computer skills for documentation and parts ordering
- Working knowledge of measurement units and basic math (including conversions)
- Ability to read, interpret, and sketch basic diagrams
- Understanding of tools and their proper usage
- Introductory knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting and power transmission systems
Responsibilities
- Develop a basic understanding of equipment operations and assist with routine maintenance activities
- Perform general maintenance tasks across the facility, including offices, restrooms, and grounds
- Complete routine inspections and equipment setups, including: Safety and environmental checks, Recording operational data (e.g., utility readings), Replacing parts and conducting quality checks with precision measurements
- Assist Reliability Technicians (Levels C–A) with: Job site setup and cleanup, Transporting tools and materials, PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) operation during tasks, Painting, lubrication, and greasing
- Supporting confined space monitoring and hot work safety
