About The Position

The Reliability Manager leads the account reliability program and is accountable for aligning asset management, maintenance strategy, and reliability performance with client and operational objectives. This role provides direct leadership to assigned reliability and continuous improvement team members, establishes priorities, defines performance expectations, and ensures work is coordinated across reliability, quality, and process improvement activities. The manager owns reliability governance for the account, including maintenance strategy, asset performance, reliability metrics, compliance support, and capital planning. The role also ensures that K-C workflows are clearly governed, documented, controlled, and continuously improved. Day-to-day workflow analysis, process mapping, training development, and improvement execution may be assigned to the Continuous Improvement Engineer, with the Reliability Manager providing direction, approval, accountability, and removal of barriers. This position partners with operations, maintenance, account leadership, vendors, CI&R leadership, and client stakeholders to translate data and field observations into sustainable improvements. Success requires technical reliability expertise, people leadership, disciplined program management, and the ability to connect team goals and responsibilities to measurable account outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reliability engineering, maintenance strategy, facilities management, manufacturing, or a related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people, programs, or cross-functional technical teams and establishing clear goals, priorities, and accountability.
  • Experience with continuous improvement, process governance, workflow standardization, quality controls, and change implementation.
  • Experience using CMMS and operational data to improve maintenance performance; Corrigo, Maximo, FEXA, or similar platform experience preferred.
  • Experience partnering with client and operational leadership and presenting technical recommendations to varied audiences.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong working knowledge of reliability engineering, maintenance strategy, asset criticality, root cause analysis, PM optimization, and lifecycle planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Power BI or similar analytics and visualization tools.
  • Experience with CMMS, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Power Platform tools preferred.
  • Ability to define governance, clarify roles and decision rights, manage changing workflows, and ensure documentation and training remain current.
  • Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, delegation, conflict resolution, and performance management skills.
  • Strong program management, stakeholder communication, presentation, and change-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, make data-informed decisions, and maintain attention to quality and follow-through.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including macros, Power Query, pivot tables, formula creation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experienced with CMMS and SharePoint platforms for asset management and document collaboration.
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply technical concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and self-management skills.

  • Perform work on a roof level.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus, determine full range of colors in work areas, drawings and mapping.
  • Ability to move about commercial properties and construction sites, through tight passageways and corridors.
  • On feet as project task requirements dictate.
  • Majority of the time the employee would be working in a standard office environment.
  • May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and may work in high precarious places.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • May at times work in an environment where the following safety equipment are needed: steel toecap shoes, hearing protection, hardhat eye protection, and/or hair protection.
  • Must abide by all safety guidelines including OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, etc.
  • Work schedule can be affected by production, downtime and many other variables.
  • Candidates should be extremely flexible with non-customary schedules and weekend work.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually negligible but may at times be moderate.
  • Travel is solely business-driven; flexibility is required and all candidates should be prepared to travel on a monthly basis as part of this job. Travel may vary 10%-40% based on assigned projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SmartSheet and the Microsoft Power Suite—including Power BI and Power Automate—is desirable.
  • Certified Reliability Leader, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional, or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Ability to achieve Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification within 12 months is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to Canada (valid Passport) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the account reliability program and directly manage assigned Reliability and Continuous Improvement personnel. Establish priorities, goals, development plans, and performance expectations; coordinate workloads; coach team members; and ensure responsibilities are clear, complementary, and aligned with account and CI&R objectives.
  • Direct maintenance strategy reviews, asset criticality assessments, PM optimization, bad-actor elimination, failure analysis, and root cause investigations. Ensure corrective actions are practical, assigned, tracked, and incorporated into maintenance plans and operating practices.
  • Provide governance for K-C workflows and related process controls. Ensure workflows are documented, reviewed, updated, communicated, and sustained as requirements change. Direct and approve the Continuous Improvement Engineer’s process analysis, training, standardization, data-quality, and improvement work while maintaining clear accountability between reliability management and CI execution.
  • Establish and monitor reliability KPIs using asset, work order, failure, downtime, PM, cost, and vendor data. Validate that reporting is accurate and actionable, identify risks and trends, and lead performance reviews that translate findings into prioritized actions and measurable results.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, procurement, technology, vendors, CI&R leadership, and client stakeholders to align reliability priorities, resolve barriers, clarify ownership, and implement sustainable improvements. Communicate program status, risks, decisions, and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure reliability procedures, maintenance strategies, workflow documentation, training records, and supporting data meet applicable internal and client requirements. Support audits, drive closure of identified gaps, and promote consistent adoption of approved standards across the account.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for capital planning, repair-versus-replace decisions, asset renewal priorities, lifecycle risk, and cost optimization. Connect asset condition and reliability performance to long-range investment recommendations.
