About The Position

Samsung Biologics is seeking a Reliability Manager – Maintenance Planning to lead maintenance planning and reliability initiatives for our Rockville, Maryland campus. This role serves as the site owner of the IBM Maximo CMMS system and is responsible for driving maintenance planning, scheduling, system optimization, and continuous improvement activities across two cGMP manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will lead a team of maintenance planners and coordinators while partnering with Facilities, Metrology, Engineering, and external service providers to ensure reliable and compliant facility operations.

Requirements

  • Experience administering and optimizing IBM Maximo CMMS in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Experience leading teams within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other cGMP-regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives using maintenance and reliability metrics.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site administrator and subject matter expert for the Maximo CMMS system.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of maintenance data, asset records, work orders, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Drive continuous improvements to CMMS processes, workflows, and system utilization to support operational excellence across two cGMP facilities.
  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Metrology, Engineering, and Operations teams to optimize maintenance schedules and resource allocation.
  • Monitor maintenance execution and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and workforce efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage services provided by critical maintenance vendors and contractors.
  • Support supplier qualification activities and updates to the approved vendor list.
  • Ensure external service providers meet safety, quality, and compliance expectations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for maintenance planning and CMMS administration.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, prioritize workload, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing across maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Develop, monitor, and report maintenance KPIs, including schedule compliance, PM completion rates, backlog management, and equipment reliability metrics.
  • Identify and implement initiatives that improve maintenance effectiveness, asset performance, and overall operational reliability.
  • Lead reliability-focused projects and support the implementation of best practices in maintenance planning and asset management.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with cGMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete assigned deviations, investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and other quality system activities accurately and within established timelines.
  • Support internal audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives as required.
