About The Position

Candidates hired will begin their first 2 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP) under the Development Operations (DO) or Product Safety, Certification, Validation & Engineering Quality (PSCV&EQ) Organization. This consists of three rotations of approximately 8-months in duration in three different departments across either or both of our two organizations (DO/PSCV&EQ). Upon their 2-year graduation, they will return to their hiring department (1st rotation) for at least 1 year. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or STEM major obtained by start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Support P&W Integrated Product Teams, Chief Engineer, Airframe manufacturers, Suppliers, and Customers in reviewing, assessing, and influencing engine designs to optimize safety-related metrics and assure safety requirements (CFR 14 or equivalent Parts 33 and 25 or Mil-Std-882) are met.
  • Generating Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), reliability allocations and predictions, and integrating controls system reliability analyses into the propulsion systems analyses.
  • Leading Safety and Reliability customer technical interchange meetings, Safety Working Group Meetings, driving reliability and safety in subsystem IPT, CIPT and SIPT integration activities and reviews with internal and external customers and air system contractors
  • Contributing to reliability and safety design requirements based on derivation of the customer specification, creating reliability, maintainability/human factors and safety design assessment artifacts in accordance with engineering standard work.
