About The Position

Broadcom is a world leader in custom ASIC design, including cutting-edge AI solutions. Broadcom is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join its Global Operations Quality Assurance Team in Fort Collins, CO. The Reliability team is crucial for bringing leading-edge Silicon and Packaging solutions to market by performing reliability qualifications on new products. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a self-starter with good communication and teamwork skills. They should be familiar with, or capable of learning, the reliability qualification process, including hands-on setup and debugging to support Broadcom’s advanced Silicon and Packaging solutions. This hands-on engineering role involves setting up, verifying, and operating High Temperature Operational Life (HTOL) reliability stressing for cutting-edge AI devices. The position requires interaction with various Broadcom Business Units (BUs) as they engage with the REL Lab in Fort Collins for new product qualification support. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure all necessary inputs are provided for successful qualification. Project management, including planning, scheduling, and tracking, is essential.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical) or related field and 8+ years of related experience is required.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in Zoom (and other Virtual) meetings, by email, and by phone.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of Reliability Qualification stressing (HTOL, HTS, TC, THB, uHAST, bHAST).
  • Experience and Understanding of the MCC HTOL HPB family of systems.
  • Schematic design and PCB layouts design and review.
  • Critical eye with ability to catch schematic and board layout errors and provide corrections.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a REL Lab environment.
  • A background in ATE test engineering or IC chip or hardware design would be a plus.
  • Experience with AHER MAX, InCal, and bHAST Equipment.
  • Experience with running HTOL and bHAST projects, for various IC products.
  • Experience with electrical bench test setup, measure and debug.
  • Hands-on experience in support of HTOL projects.
  • Proven track record in a lab team environment.

Responsibilities

  • HTOL Oven setup and operation.
  • Work with BRCM BUs to develop a biased stress plan for critical projects.
  • Manage biased stress project schedules (Internal and External).
  • Track and report on ongoing project status.
  • Liaise between various external vendors and the internal BU.
  • Hardware schematic review.
  • Hardware layout review.
  • Thermal head simulation review.
  • Converting HTOL vectors to run on the in-house MCC HTOL systems.
  • Provide technical engineering support for the REL Lab team.
  • Perform debugging for board, socket, and HTOL vector issues.
  • Complete initial biased stress certifications.
  • Ensure REL project completion to meet the qualification expectations.
