Lilly recently announced a $4.5 billion investment to create the Lilly Medicine Foundry, a new center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The first-ever facility of its kind, combining research and manufacturing in a single location, the Medicine Foundry will allow Lilly to further develop innovative solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and increase capacity for clinical trial medicines, while also reducing costs and environmental impact. The Reliability Engineer increases the reliability of process and utility equipment in support of manufacturing research requirements for capacity, dependability, quality, safety, environmental and costs. As part of the center for advanced manufacturing research, this role contributes directly to the supply of innovative medicines for clinical trials, ensuring that critical equipment and systems perform optimally to enable cutting-edge pharmaceutical development. The primary responsibilities of the Reliability Engineer are to provide support, direction and subject matter expertise on equipment reliability issues. The engineer also reviews our current equipment performance to prevent potential reliability issues & implement reliability monitoring programs to provide maximum availability of equipment. The Reliability Engineer will also keep up to date with current technologies available for optimum reliability results including analytical methodologies, predictive technologies, and best practices for equipment design, installation, operation, and servicing.
