Requirements

  • Demonstrates depth and/or breadth of expertise in electronics, especially in single point of failure products and how to increase reliability without redundancy.
  • 10 + years of experience of working directly on Power supply and controller design and total knowledge of discreet components Commercial vs. Industrial vs. Extended Ind, such as Capacitors, MOSFETs, Optocouplers, drivers, and inductors.
  • Reliability experience on film vs MLCC vs electrolytic capacitors.
  • Deep knowledge of derating and thermal management in order to increase the useful life of Power Supplies, Servers, and Robot controllers.
  • Leads others to solve complex reliability problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view

Responsibilities

  • Design reliability testing and qualification on electronic components such as Power supplies, Servers and Robot controllers.
  • Evaluate and work closely with suppliers from a reliability standpoint, the materials, properties and techniques used in DfR, to build, test and release electronics.
  • Be able to help the suppliers with discreet components selection to increase the useful life of products.
  • Expertise in Industry standards such as IPC 610D, IPC 9592, IEC/EN 61000, JESD22, MIL-STD-810, and knowledge of safety requirement (i.e. UL/CE/TUV).
  • Extensive knowledge in semiconductor equipment including metal deposition, dielectric deposition, etch, diffusion process, and planarization and plating processes
  • Assist in preparing & presenting reliability reports; Maintain and improve on the current reliability documentation processes; Continuously improve reliability process and procedures;
  • Perform FMECA, HALT and HASS, document CRAMS and work with supplier and engineer to enable CRAMS test plan. Also audit supplier’s design and manufacturing process to make sure they can meet AMAT reliability goals.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of field failures and engage with suppliers on improvement changes.
