About The Position

The Release Manager will be responsible for managing the "end to end" technical or solution delivery of assigned tasks, partnering with Network engineering/implementation teams, program/project managers, or directly with the requestor. This role takes direct accountability for engineering resources and all assigned work tasks, including STI/Release and Deployment tasks from pre-change through Production Day-One. The Release Manager will develop, track, and report on engineering delivery tasks, proactively resolving issues and conflicts. They will provide regular status updates to STI/Release and Deployment management, advocate on behalf of CTO Operations/STI, and work with program/project managers to establish release/impact/risk trackers and calendars. This role requires identifying and challenging schedules that could create conflicts, evaluating changes, and ensuring implementation schedules do not interfere with business operations. The Release Manager will also ensure necessary documentation is completed, raise Change Requests (CRQs) for engineering changes, review change requests for completeness, participate in the change management board, conduct release readiness reviews, and arrange post-implementation review activities, maintaining 100% compliance with Change Management policies. Additionally, they will participate in incident and problem analysis for potential consequences of changes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8+ years experience required in a Technical role supporting network project/programs.
  • Experience with Change Management and CAB processes and procedures a must.
  • Strong background in IT service delivery role.
  • Ability to be nimble and flexible; prioritize work load, proactively react to issues and consistently react to shifting deadlines.
  • Ability to create meaningful data that contributes to the Change Management and Service Delivery processes.
  • Leadership; be a self-starter, self-directed and shows initiative.
  • Focused on execution, delivery and commitment to dates.
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment.
  • Can manage risk; is a good decision maker.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business or a finance related field/technical training or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Industry Certifications in PMP, ITIL are strongly preferred.
  • Technical certifications such as CCNA are a plus.
  • Financial services (Insurance, Banking, Investment banking), is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the "end to end" successful technical or solution delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Manage Network technical/engineering/implementation resource tasks and service delivery, including FTE/FTC/vendors and partners.
  • Develop, track, report and manage engineering delivery tasks.
  • Anticipate and proactively resolve issues and conflicts within and between engineering delivery work-flows and all other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular and pro-active status to STI/Release and Deployment management.
  • Advocate on behalf of CTO Operations/STI; ensure communication/reporting of statuses, issues, positions effectively and clearly.
  • Work with program/project managers to establish release/impact/risk trackers and calendars.
  • Understand internal/external dependencies and react to them proactively and effectively.
  • Report and monitor progress against the release calendar; communicate release details and schedules to stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage conflict.
  • Identify and/or challenge schedules that could create conflicts; evaluate all recommended changes and ensure implementation schedules do not interfere with business operations/other changes.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation has been successfully completed for each release and task.
  • Raise Request for Change (CRQ) for engineering specific changes and ensure appropriate change details are documented.
  • Review change requests for completeness, from description, documentation, risk/impact, and post-implementation.
  • Participate in the change management board; conduct release readiness reviews as appropriate.
  • Arrange and facilitate appropriate post-implementation review activities if/as needed.
  • Maintain 100% compliance to all firm-wide Change Management policies (pre, during and post change).
  • Participate in incident and problem analysis for possible consequences of a change and its implementation.
