Alpha Omega is currently seeking a detail-oriented Release Manager to join one of our long-term Federal projects. This role involves overseeing the Release Management Process for a Major IT Investment, planning releases of applications and features in accordance with mandated policies, and communicating project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, and requirements between different teams. The Release Manager will coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates. A key aspect of this role is identifying and managing risks that could delay releases without affecting the scope, schedule, or quality. The position requires tracking progress, identifying issues, and continuously working to improve the release process, ensuring releases are planned according to requirements and budget. Responsibilities include scheduling release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release, creating implementation and deployment plans, and providing weekly updates on release activities. The Release Manager will lead Go-Live activities for successful software deployment and collaborate with development teams responsible for automation tools. This role also involves scheduling meetings to discuss release schedules, identify roadblocks, and maintain documentation related to build and release procedures, notification lists, and dependencies, while also seeking improvements in configuration management and software development methodologies.
