About The Position

This diverse counselling role offers the opportunity to work across veterans and their families, EAP and community clients. Relationships Australia South Australia (RASA) is a not-for-profit, secular, community organisation, helping people to overcome difficulties and bring about positive change in their lives. We offer services for families, couples and individuals of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Requirements

Tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in social work, psychology, counselling or related relevant discipline.
Demonstrated experience providing counselling to individuals, couples, children or families in a therapeutic context.
Demonstrated experience responding to complex presenting issues, including family and domestic violence, child safety concerns, trauma impacts and relationship difficulties.
Demonstrated capacity to work with diverse client groups, including adults, children, families and clients accessing services through different referral pathways.

Experience working with veterans, Defence Force members or their families, including understanding of service-related issues and impacts on relationships and family wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive counselling and group interventions for adults, children, couples and families, including therapeutic and psycho-educational support.
Deliver services across face-to-face and Telehealth modalities, maintaining engagement, safety, confidentiality and quality of therapeutic practice.
Work effectively across service pathways, including veterans and their families, EAP clients, and general relationship counselling clients from the community.
Support clients affected by family and domestic violence, including children who experience or witness violence, and engage people who use violence to support behaviour change.
