About The Position

Responsible for performing a variety of member transactions with an emphasis on loan and new account origination. Conducts consultative member interviews to uncover member needs and recommends appropriate products and services. Generates new business from existing and potential members. Provides exceptional external and internal member service with a smile. Performs Teller transactions as needed based on needs of branch.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience in a Retail Sales.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written).
  • Accurately assesses cultural environment, exhibiting emotional intelligence and appropriate sensitivity while maintaining individuality.
  • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
  • Good math skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate PC, related software applications and standard office equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, as a team, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while always promoting a professional image of the Credit Union.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines while maintaining and effective and efficient workflow.
  • Ability to meet assigned goals within specified timelines.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.
  • Required to work at any Credit Union location that may include extended hours, holidays or Saturdays.
  • Regular, predictable attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of financial services industry preferred.
  • Consumer Lending experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Teller and Relationship Manager operations and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting established sales & service goals.
  • Attaining a minimum of 85% or higher overall on individual scorecard.
  • Actively cross-selling and identifying credit union products and services that align with member’s financial needs. Referring to internal/external business partners as necessary.
  • Maintaining established minimum score for NPS member transaction surveys.
  • Protecting member and credit union assets by meeting and/or exceeding established ancillary product penetration goals.
  • Presenting and explaining Credit Union services and products to members and assisting in meeting their financial needs. Opening and closing accounts. Ordering checks for members' accounts. Completing payroll deduction and authorization forms.
  • Answering questions and solving problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolving member bookkeeping and account problems. Taking stop payment orders.
  • Receiving and directing members and telephone calls. Responding to inquiries and questions if possible or directing them as necessary. Recording and relaying messages.
  • Performing file maintenance and account changes as needed.
  • Keeping members informed of Credit Union products & services including types of available accounts, interest and dividend rates, payroll deduction options, and other related services.
  • Maintaining and projecting the Credit Union's professional reputation. Maintaining privacy of member account information.
  • Satisfactorily completing all required compliance training and complying with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position to include OFAC, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Act and USA Patriot Act compliance. Utilizing CRM to track leads, referrals, outbound calling, and appointments.
  • Assisting area personnel as required.
  • Keeping supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Completing required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Adhering to assigned schedule & break periods. Regular attendance & punctuality are required.
  • Attending and participating in all meetings, trainings and committees as required.
  • Representing the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Receiving share deposits and loan payments.
  • Processing cash advances, travel cards, gift cards, cashiers' checks, money orders, the wiring of funds, share withdrawals, transfers, & stop payments.
  • Verifying transactions. Monitoring deposit amounts and examining documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detecting and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Balancing daily transactions and verifying cash totals. Investigating, reporting, and resolving out-of-balance conditions.
  • Performing drive-up service, night drop, safe deposit box, and ATM and coin machine functions as assigned.
  • Participating in community and civic events to promote awareness of the Credit Union in the community.
  • Attending and participating in all required meetings, trainings, and committees.
  • Ensuring that work area and assigned equipment are clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
