About The Position

Citi's Commercial Bank is looking for a Senior Relationship Manager to lead and grow a portfolio of US-headquartered middle market companies with revenues up to $3 billion, serving as their primary banking partner and trusted advisor. In this Director-level role, you will sit at the center of a globally connected platform, working with product, credit, treasury, and markets specialists across more than 100 countries to deliver comprehensive financial solutions. Your work will directly shape client outcomes, drive revenue growth, and influence the strategic direction of Citi's Commercial Banking business in the US.

Requirements

  • 15 or more years of relationship management experience with commercial or middle market clients, with a demonstrated ability to grow and retain complex, multi-product banking portfolios.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial banking products and services including credit, treasury, lending, foreign exchange, trade finance, and capital markets solutions relevant to mid-sized companies.
  • Expert-level credit skills, including the ability to structure all types of credit transactions independently and guide team members through the full credit approval process.
  • Advanced ability to identify early warning signals within a client portfolio and take proactive steps to manage risk before it escalates.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels, with excellent negotiation, presentation, and consultative communication skills.
  • FINRA Licensing including SIE, Series 63, and Series 79, either currently held or the ability to obtain.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Citi's franchise in key growth markets by serving as a trusted external face of the organization. Leverage deep market knowledge, industry relationships, and executive presence to elevate Citi's profile, generate new business opportunities, and reinforce the firm's reputation as a leading financial partner to middle market companies.
  • Build and deepen relationships with both existing clients and new prospects, acting as their primary point of contact for all commercial banking needs and anticipating future financial challenges before they arise.
  • Develop and maintain an active new business pipeline, identifying cross-sell opportunities across working capital, syndicated and bilateral lending, treasury and liquidity management, foreign exchange, trade finance, capital markets, and derivatives.
  • Structure and sponsor credit solutions across varying risk profiles, overseeing the end-to-end credit process from origination through approval while ensuring sound underwriting practices at every stage.
  • Partner daily with cash management, underwriting, markets, and investment banking teams to deliver integrated product solutions, and coordinate global coverage of client needs through Citi's dedicated banking network worldwide.
  • Lead client-level planning, budgeting, and revenue management, holding accountability for portfolio performance and maintaining a clear view of business targets and priorities.
  • Mentor and direct junior team members, allocating work effectively to provide timely financial solutions to clients and prospects while upholding the highest standards of quality and integrity.
  • Maintain full compliance with Know Your Customer standards, regulatory requirements, and Citi's policies throughout the client lifecycle, from onboarding through ongoing relationship management.
