About The Position

The Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement System (PMRS) is seeking a Relationship Manager (Member Specialist) to join their dynamic and collaborative workplace. This role is ideal for a skilled communicator with exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for serving others. The Relationship Manager will be responsible for building strong personal relationships and providing exceptional client services, acting as the primary point of contact for members partnering with PMRS for their pension needs. As a key member of the Client Relations team, you will ensure members receive the highest level of care and attention, advocate on their behalf, provide industry expertise, assist in expanding current relationships, and help build new business opportunities. You will also collaborate with a team of other Relationship Managers, including Municipal and Member Specialists.

Requirements

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Selected candidate must be able to travel as needed for the role, which includes maintaining any credentials necessary for independent travel.

Responsibilities

  • Advise members and their representatives on plan rules and benefit provisions.
  • Maintain clear communication channels through email, mail, phone, and events.
  • Use surveys, interviews, and research tools to identify member concerns and propose improvements.
  • Assist members during plan onboarding, changes, or terminations by coordinating essential information.
  • Work closely with internal teams to share data, address questions, and resolve complex issues.
  • Develop and deliver presentations that provide pension-related information to diverse audiences.
