About The Position

This internship role focuses on applying business development experience for prospecting and lead generation to new and existing clients. The intern will provide exceptional client experience by delivering superior business and financial advice within a Client Relationship Team model. Responsibilities include collaborating with expert advisors to create and execute client contact strategies, demonstrating portfolio management and risk mitigation through financial statement review, and identifying referral opportunities within RBC. Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years commercial banking experience
  • Deep and proven client-centricity, business development, and relationship management excellence
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • New client acquisition skills (i.e., pitching the value proposition, lead generation, initial customer contact and cold calling, asking for referrals)
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e., web based meetings, social media, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications)

Nice To Haves

  • Credit skills including assessment of risk and financial analysis, credit structuring/solutions and presenting the deal
  • Specialized industry expertise in a past role (e.g., real estate, healthcare, agriculture)
  • University degree, ideally in commerce, business administration, or related experience

Responsibilities

  • Apply past business development experience for prospecting, and lead generation, to new and existing clients
  • Provide an exceptional client experience by delivering superior business and financial advice within a Client Relationship Team model
  • Collaborate and coordinate with a core group of expert advisors to create and execute a client contact strategy tailored to each client’s needs
  • Demonstrate portfolio management and risk mitigation through the review of financial statements identifying trends, monitoring risk, and assessing for credit restructuring
  • Leverage the expertise of RBC by identifying referral opportunities, making introductions together with appropriate referrals to RBC partners
