About The Position

Guy Carpenter is seeking a talented Reinsurance Specialist to join their team in New York. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office. The specialist will manage an assigned client portfolio, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate activity entry, and premium collection. They will collaborate with departments to support collections and fund settlements while adhering to SLAs. The role involves providing detailed accounting and claims information to support sales, building strong relationships with brokers, clients, and markets, and actively contributing to team efforts. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in reinsurance, insurance, accounting, or claims
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or risk management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workload effectively
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills with a positive attitude
  • Proactive in offering and implementing ideas to improve processes in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Consistently promoting and enhancing the Guy Carpenter brand

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned client portfolio, including timely follow-up, accurate system entry of client activity, and securing reinsurance premiums.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support collection efforts and cash application processes as needed.
  • Oversee timely settlement of funds to and from clients, ensuring compliance with all payment warranties and conditions.
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Provide detailed client-specific accounting and claims information to support sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Brokers, Clients, and Markets by understanding their needs and resolving issues effectively; actively participate in team meetings to share knowledge and contribute to outcomes.
