About The Position

The Rehabilitation Technician works in the Health Center, helping operate equipment and supporting patients and residents assigned to therapy. The role assists residents with preparing for therapy sessions and, under a therapist’s supervision, may occasionally help them with certain therapy exercises and treatments. The technician also transports residents to and from the treatment area, provides clerical and administrative support, and maintains the treatment areas, equipment, and therapy supplies. The position requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow directions clearly and efficiently. The role is based at Westminster Towers, a life plan community in downtown Orlando, Florida. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Responsibilities may change as organizational needs evolve.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Two years of experience in a therapy or health care setting, or in skilled nursing facilities.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to follow directions clearly and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable employment rules, policies, standards, and guidelines.
Under a therapist’s supervision, assist with treating residents and preparing them for therapy sessions.
Under a therapist’s supervision, occasionally work with residents on certain therapy exercises and therapies.
Transport residents to and from the treatment area.
Provide clerical and administrative support, including faxing, filing, and mailing.
Maintain treatment areas and equipment, including setting up treatment areas and cleaning equipment and therapy supplies.
