About The Position

University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a PRN Rehabilitation Technician for its inpatient rehabilitation team. The hospital is operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and University Hospitals. The technician supports patient therapy and care under the direction of an OTR/RPT, transports patients safely, communicates with the rehabilitation team, and observes patient responses to treatment. The role involves regularly lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to transport patients and use safe lifting techniques for loads up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Six to twelve months of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient care tasks determined by the OTR/RPT to help patients achieve therapy goals.
• Safely transport patients to and from therapy and other activities.
• Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with members of the rehabilitation team.
• Observe and recognize patient reactions to treatment and follow instructions accurately.
• Regularly lift and carry equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
