About The Position

The rehabilitation technician will be assigned responsibilities by the Manager of Rehabilitation (MOR) and/or supervising therapist/clinician to provide services as specified in the plan of care within the scope of on-the-job training with supervision by a licensed therapist/clinician who is on the premises and readily available to respond in person.

Requirements

• Demonstrates ability to work in a team setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in pediatric therapy setting preferred.
• Technical college certified preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for aiding licensed therapists/clinicians in treatment sessions
• Maintain all therapy equipment and other equipment utilized throughout the facility for direct patient care. This includes, but not limited to set up/take down before and after sessions, assist in inventory and ensure therapy area is organized/cleaned at the end of each workday. Must immediately report any safety concerns to area coordinator.
• The rehabilitation technician may assist all departments to include, but not limited to physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, assistive technology, recreational therapy, social work, counseling, and nutrition.
• Must effectively communicate with patients and their family members, ensuring a positive experience in the building. The Rehabilitation Technician will defer clinical questions to the licensed supervising therapist/clinician as appropriate.
• Assist therapists/clinicians with organization and/or printing of home exercise program handouts and additional clerical work as instructed by supervising therapist/clinician or MOR.
• Perform other duties as delegated, required or requested by area coordinator or supervising therapist/clinician.
• Must exhibit effective time management skills and have the ability to multi task.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
