About The Position

The position is responsible for providing transport of patients to and from therapy and other activities, assistance in maintaining treatment areas, and conducting clerical tasks in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards. This position is also responsible for the recreational activities and resources on ARU units. They shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within 14 calendar days of start date
  • Minimum of a current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant license within 6 months of hire
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact positively with patient, patient’s family, team, and physicians so as to promote positive patient care and a problem solving environment.
  • Ability to function independently.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work routine/schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer knowledge preferred
  • Experience in working in a skilled nursing/transitional care setting with an adult, geriatric and disabled population

Responsibilities

  • Assists therapist in providing appropriate therapeutic interventions/participate in group therapy sessions.
  • Updates and posts the individual patient schedules to plan patient transportation; transports patients to activities.
  • Provides/oversees the provision of scheduled activities and weekend functions.
  • Cleans and maintains therapeutic equipment and gym; maintains oxygen tank fill status; proactively manages the replacement/restocking of gym items as needed.
  • Conducts initial resident activity assessment within 48 hours following admission.
  • Participates in the provision of resident information in a timely fashion.
  • Develops individualized activity treatment plans as part of the interdisciplinary process.
  • Plans and engages patients in daily group activities.
  • Provides treatment as needed.
  • Works with other Rehab Techs in the planning and running of holiday related resident/patient activities; documents assessment and patient involvement in activities in Care Manager and Activity Log.
  • Works proactively with disciplines and external vendor regarding maintenance of wheelchair fleet and other rehab equipment; keeps Program Director informed of status and needs.
  • Provides resident council meeting and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence.
