About The Position

The Rehabilitation Tech / PT Aide provides clinical and operational support to the Rehabilitation Services department under the direction of licensed therapy staff. This position assists with patient flow, treatment setup and cleanup, patient transport, equipment and supply management, environmental cleanliness, documentation support, and therapist-directed patient engagement activities. The Rehabilitation Tech supports an organized, safe, efficient, and welcoming rehabilitation environment for patients, families, and staff. This role may support inpatient, swing bed, and other rehabilitation services as needed. Duties may vary based on daily census, staffing patterns, and department needs.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
Current, valid AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).
Basic knowledge of computer applications including data.

At least one (1) Year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists therapists and therapy assistants with daily patient care support tasks and department workflow as directed and supervised by licensed therapy staff.
Prepares treatment areas, gathers equipment and supplies, and assists with treatment setup and breakdown.
Assists with patient transport and helps promote timely patient readiness and flow for therapy sessions.
Monitors patients during assigned exercises, functional tasks, or activities under therapist direction and reports concerns promptly to the supervising therapist.
Prepares and removes hot packs, ice packs, and estim as directed and within departmental procedures.
Takes and records vital signs as assigned.
Cleans equipment and maintains a sanitary treatment environment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
Maintains rehab treatment areas in a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming manner.
Greets patients and guests upon arrival and notifies therapy staff of patient arrival.
Maintains linen supply, hot pack covers, and rehabilitation department supplies.
Monitors hot pack and freezer temperatures and completes required logs.
Pulls, organizes, files, prepares, and disposes of rehabilitation-related paperwork, forms, logs, and other department materials as assigned.
Assists with updating communication boards, schedules, and other department organization tools as assigned.
Assists with therapist-directed patient engagement, recreational activities, and swing bed activity programming, including setup, cleanup, supply gathering, and participation tracking as assigned.
Supports swing bed and inpatient rehabilitation operations through patient assistance, transport, department organization, and communication with the rehab team.
Helps maintain survey readiness and department appearance by keeping work areas clean, stocked, and orderly.
Reports patient, equipment, environmental, infection control, and safety concerns promptly to the therapist and/or supervisor.
Works collaboratively with therapy staff, nursing, patients, families, and other departments to support safe and efficient patient care.
Performs other related duties as assigned in support of rehabilitation and patient care operations.
