About The Position

We are seeking a rehabilitation supervisor for our multidisciplinary team (PT/OT/SLP/Rehab Tech) at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis! The supervisor is responsible for staff development, performance management, managing resources, clinic and/or hospital operations, regulatory oversight, and leadership. In collaboration with the patients and families, the supervisor is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice for the discipline they are credentialed. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. FTE: 0.8, authorized for 64 hours per pay period; 0.4 FTE patient care and 0.4 FTE administrative/supervisory work. Schedule: Four, 8-hour days/week. No weekends and no holidays. Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs. Requirements

  • 1 year experience in Rehab Services clinician role (Occupational or Physical Therapy)
  • Active MN licensure in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy
  • Active MN Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy
  • 3+ years of clinical experience
  • 1+ year of leadership experience
  • Experience in pediatric acute care

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Productivity management – manages day to day staffing to achieve productivity targets, schedule utilization and show rate. Staffing – identify volume needs and staffs appropriately. Understanding of financial metrics including monthly reporting and contributes to success of department financials. Responsible for day to day operations including but not limited to p-card oversight, supply ordering to stay within budget targets.
  • Manages Performance: Conducts annual performance reviews with direct reports, working collaboratively with director on appropriate ratings/increases. Provides direct reports ongoing feedback and coaching throughout the year. Conducts crucial conversations. Cascades goal from work plan with assigned staff. Collaborates with director on formal Corrective Action issues. Builds a culture that engages and excites. Conducts employee rounding. Recognizes employees for their contributions. Manages up senior leadership. Leads and develops team employee engagement plan.
  • Staff Development: Participates in the interviewing/hiring process. Coordinates and directs new employee orientation. Facilitates goal development and ongoing review of achieving goals. Support educational plan for staff development. Serves as a resource to answer questions, offers available resources/educational opportunities. Manages relationships with students/student coordinator.

  • Program development: Assists director in identifying opportunities for program development. Implements new programs in collaboration with director and CQL team.
  • Provides patient care in their clinical area.
