About The Position

The Adult Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides services for adults age 18 and older with serious mental illness, including people with co-occurring substance use disorders or developmental disabilities. Teams develop individualized plans to help residents achieve the highest level of recovery possible.

Under general supervision, the Rehabilitation Specialist supports mental health treatment by providing a safe, therapeutic environment that encourages clients’ independence and wellbeing. The role includes one-on-one residential counseling, medication support, collaboration on individual service plans, and transportation and advocacy for medical appointments. Direct care staff receive thorough training and ongoing mentorship from senior staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and training as required.
• Active, non-provisional driver’s license with three points or less.
• Access to an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on program needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with clients to help them learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
• Ensure medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation to clients’ medical appointments and attend appointments with them.
• Advocate for clients during medical appointments and document and/or follow through on all follow-up instructions.
• Provide a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages clients’ independence and wellbeing.
