About The Position

The Rehabilitation Specialist works in the Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP), which supports individuals with serious mental illness who have difficulty maintaining housing. The program helps clients obtain housing, employment, mental health services, and other supports. This direct-care role provides support for mental health treatment in a safe, therapeutic environment that encourages clients’ independence and well-being. The role works under general supervision and as part of a collaborative service team. Direct care staff receive thorough training and ongoing mentorship from senior staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and training as required.
• Valid driver’s license with 3 points or less.
• Access to an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on program needs.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with clients as a residential counselor to help them learn or regain skills for community and independent living and socialization.
• Support medication compliance, including responsibility for medication safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
• Work with the service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Transport clients to medical appointments and attend appointments with them.
• Advocate for clients during appointments and ensure follow-up instructions are documented and/or completed.
• Build rapport with clients and support their progress through the program and recovery.
