About The Position

The Rehabilitation Specialist works in Sheppard Pratt’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Program, providing direct care and support for mental health treatment. Under general supervision, the specialist helps create a safe, therapeutic environment that promotes clients’ independence and wellbeing. The role includes working one-on-one with clients to build or regain skills for community and independent living and socialization, supporting medication compliance, and collaborating with a service team to develop and implement individual service plans. The specialist also transports clients to medical appointments, provides advocacy during appointments, and documents or follows through on instructions. Direct care staff receive thorough training and ongoing mentorship from senior staff. The position is full-time, in person in Frederick, Maryland, with a listed schedule of Monday through Friday, either 7 a.m.–3 p.m. or 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays may be needed depending on program needs. The pay rate is $19.89 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Willingness to obtain additional certifications and training as required.
Driver’s license with 3 points or less.
Access to an insured vehicle.
Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on program needs.
