About The Position

This is a full-time, direct care opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment within the Crisis Residential Program. This program offers short-term, intensive, round-the-clock, personalized support to help stabilize individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, aiming to prevent hospitalization. The role involves providing a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages client independence and well-being. Teams collaborate with existing providers and connect clients to Sheppard Pratt or community services. All direct care staff receive thorough training and supportive mentorship.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or a GED.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
  • A driver’s license with 3-points or less.
  • Access to an insured vehicle.
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending upon need of the program.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a residential counselor, working one-on-one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
  • Ensure medication compliance, including responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
  • Work as part of a collaborative service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
  • Provide transportation and attend clients’ medical appointments, offering advocacy services and ensuring follow-up instructions are documented and/or followed through on.
