Rehabilitation Counselor
About The Position
This position is located in Guilford County, Greensboro, and is third-party funded. It provides coverage for a transition and school caseload in partnership with the Guilford County public school system. The Rehabilitation Counselor helps individuals with disabilities achieve career and independent living goals through counseling, individualized planning, and coordinated services that address disability-related barriers and support obtaining and maintaining gainful employment. The position evaluates diagnostic information to determine eligibility and rehabilitation needs, develops service plans with consumers and their parents or guardians, provides supportive counseling, monitors progress, collaborates with community partners, and documents services and case progress in the agency case management system. The role is part funded through federal funds.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from an appropriately accredited institution; or a master’s degree in a related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; or current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate professional diagnostic data to determine eligibility and required rehabilitation services.
- Develop a written plan of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent, and/or guardian.
- Provide rehabilitation services within a guidance and counseling relationship, including supportive counseling.
- Monitor the consumer’s progress throughout service delivery.
- Work with community partners to help individuals with disabilities become suitably employed.
- Document service delivery and case progress in the case management system as required by agency policy.
