About The Position

We are seeking a Part-Time Rehabilitation Counselor to work in our Behavioral Health Services Division. This position provides care and supervision to all assigned clients, ensuring a safe, healthy, secure, and pleasant environment. The selected candidate would help facilitate client growth and development towards independence in self-care, daily living skills, socialization, and community living, while participating in the development of the individual service plans and related documentation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree preferred in the social sciences or health care-related field and one year of relevant experience in the MH/MR field; or any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance and support to all clients
Teach and reinforce skill development in the areas of nutrition, basic self-care, routine medical care, and follow-up, as developed through the joint planning sessions of the individual service plans.
Review and modify individual service plans to accommodate growth and development.
Ensure the overall safety of assigned individuals by maintaining a hazard-free environment and avoiding potentially dangerous situations.
Successful completion of medication training.
Maintain and monitor medications in accordance with individuals’ self-medication plans, ensuring compliance with State and Agency medication administration regulations.
