About The Position

This is a PRN position that supports Rehab Services at multiple locations including Morgan Hospital, Bloomington Hospital, Bedford Hospital, and Paoli Hospital. The role operates between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm and is responsible for overseeing patient flow, ensuring timely and accurate services, and resolving patient account issues. Key duties include gathering information for financial and demographic records, insurance verification, prior authorization, coordination of benefits, and communicating with payers and patients. The position also involves patient registration, scheduling appointments, answering calls, directing visitors, and participating in departmental operational and performance improvement activities. Additionally, the role requires adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance programs, as well as managing departmental supplies and meeting productivity, quality, and service standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS)

Nice To Haves

  • 0-3 years Customer Service/Medical experience desired.
  • Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees patient flow from point of entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate and professional services.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate resolution of patient’s accounts.
  • Obtaining specific information to generate accurate financial and demographic records, insurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits.
  • Communicates with payers and patients to achieve accurate financial information.
  • Responsible for accurate registration of patients, scheduling recurring appointments, answers incoming calls and directs patient and visitors appropriately.
  • Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required.
  • Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
  • Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies.
  • Adheres to departmental productivity, quality and service standards in support of operational goals.
