About The Position

This PRN position supports Rehab Services across multiple hospital locations (Morgan Hospital, Bloomington Hospital, Bedford Hospital, Paoli Hospital). The role focuses on overseeing patient flow, ensuring timely and accurate services, and managing patient accounts. Responsibilities include obtaining financial and demographic information, verifying insurance, obtaining prior authorizations, and coordinating benefits. The associate will communicate with payers and patients for accurate financial information, register patients, schedule appointments, answer calls, and direct visitors. The role also involves participating in departmental operations, performance improvement, infection control, safety programs, and managing supply inventory. Adherence to departmental productivity, quality, and service standards is expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS)

Nice To Haves

  • 0-3 years Customer Service/Medical experience desired.
  • Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees patient flow from point of entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate and professional services.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate resolution of patient’s accounts.
  • Obtaining specific information to generate accurate financial and demographic records, insurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits.
  • Communicates with payers and patients to achieve accurate financial information.
  • Responsible for accurate registration of patients, scheduling recurring appointments, answers incoming calls and directs patient and visitors appropriately.
  • Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains performance improvement activities as required.
  • Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
  • Orders, distributes and maintains designated and appropriate inventory of department related supplies.
  • Adheres to departmental productivity, quality and service standards in support of operational goals.
