The Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center is a 100-bed, private-room facility recognized for its exemplary patient care experience for individuals facing challenging injuries. It provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for both adult and pediatric patients with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. The Rehabilitation Assistant performs specialized work within the center, which may involve fabricating or adapting equipment for individual patient needs or providing driving instruction to handicapped patients in specially equipped vehicles. Employees functioning as Equipment Fabricators modify, repair, and construct necessary equipment for Physical and Occupational Therapy programs. Those serving as Driving Instructors train patients in operating specially outfitted vehicles and prepare them for written license examinations. This role requires familiarity with the challenges faced by patients with a wide range of physical handicaps and the ability to adapt work to meet patient needs, all under the guidance of Physical or Occupational Therapists.
