About The Position

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Part-Time Rehabilitation Assistant to join our growing team in Surrey, BC. In this role, you will assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities. You will perform treatments as prescribed, including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and application of modalities (heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS). You will also deliver dynamic, safe, and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents, set up and prepare equipment, clean up after treatments, and ensure the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy. Maintaining regular communication with the physiotherapist regarding resident status or treatment interventions and recording daily treatments using the company's web-based system are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system
