CBI Home Health is looking to hire an Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) in the Guelph Wellington, North Wellington regions. Requirements

  • You possess a post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy/ Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA)
  • Valid Driver's License, Vehicle Insurance, and reliable vehicle is required
  • You have a general knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment
  • Your focus is to embrace and support person and family-centered care
  • You are passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making decisions
  • You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
  • You value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance

Responsibilities

  • Prepare clients for treatment and progress clients through treatment programs
  • Assist with and/or teach client therapy programs and training activities of daily living, including the use of assistive equipment and balance training
  • Assist in the use of therapeutic equipment including set up, take down, and cleaning/disinfecting. Ensure equipment is in good working order
  • Apply modalities, including but not limited to heat, ice, ultrasound, IFC, EMS, TENS, and Low Intensity
  • Responsible for writing clear professional, objective and accurate documentation in client communication records
