About The Position

The Rehabilitation Aide performs daily maintenance routines for various rehabilitation departments, including disinfecting equipment, storing and refilling disinfectants, setting up and cleaning therapy rooms, and performing daily sanitation of gym areas and equipment. They also notify appropriate personnel about equipment malfunctions, maintain general clinic tidiness, and ensure supplies are properly stored. Additionally, the role involves ordering food for therapy services, performing clerical duties, delivering basic modality treatments under supervision, preparing patients for treatment, transporting patients, and performing basic patient transfer techniques.

Requirements

High School Education
1 year of experience as a Rehab Aide or Rehab Technician
Good communication skills.
Competency in all Rehab Aide I duties.

Responsibilities

Performance of daily maintenance routines for various rehabilitation departments: Disinfects equipment. Loads and unloads dishwasher as applicable. Stores and maintains and refills disinfectant according to hospital specifications. Sets up and cleans up therapy rooms for specific procedures as requested. Performs daily sanitation of PT/OT Gym areas, i.e., mat tables, tables, and therapeutic equipment. Notifies appropriate personnel regarding equipment malfunctioning, hydra equipment. Maintains general clinic tidiness. Maintains splint area ensuring that supplies are properly stored and countertops are clear. Refills water levels. Accepts, verifies, and puts away supplies when delivered. Orders food for therapy services. Performs other clerical duties as back up or as assigned.
Performance of basic modality/exercise treatments. Delivers basic modality treatments after having been instructed and credentialed in safety techniques and precautions under the direct supervision of a therapist to include hot/cold packs, Hydra, but not to include Electrical Stimulation or advanced therapeutic techniques.
Preparation of patient for treatment to facilitate patient care: Prepares patient for treatment after having been instructed and credentialed in safety techniques and precautions.
Performance of patient transportation and routine errands between various rehabilitation settings.
Performance of basic patient transfer techniques to facilitate patient care.
