About The Position

Responsible for provision and administration of specific physical/occupational therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff Physical/Occupational Therapist/Assistant. The Rehab Tech as directed and supervised by the staff Therapist/Assistant, assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Rehab Tech participates in operational aspects of the department including patient preparation, cleaning, infection control, maintenance, equipment checks, and other aspects as directed by the Therapist/Assistant. The Rehab Tech maintains performance improvement activities within the department participates in CQI activities, and performs other departmental duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Services Manager. Performs clerical duties, registration, assists with reviewing of patient charges in the computer system, scheduling, chart organization, and other duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Services Manager. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Adheres to departmental attendance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Excellent Customer Service through all patient interaction.
  • Properly prepare/setup for patient treatment sessions.
  • Assist, motivate, instruct, and safeguard patients practicing exercises or functional activities under therapist’s direct supervision/instruction.
  • Help patients dress, undress, and put on/take off supportive devices, such as splints, braces, or slings.
  • Clean and organize treatment areas, including disinfecting equipment after treatment.
  • Maintain equipment and furniture to ensure good working order.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as registration, filing, word processing, ordering supplies, answering phones, message taking, appointment making, etc.
  • Effectively communicate with supervising therapist.
  • Be dependable and punctual adhering to attendance policy.
  • Complete other duties as assigned relating to departmental function by Rehab Services Manager.
