About The Position

The Groundskeeper (Temporary Summer position) plays a crucial role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of outdoor spaces within the Camden area. This position is responsible for ensuring that all grounds are clean, safe, and visually appealing, contributing to a positive environment for both employees and visitors. The Groundskeeper will perform a variety of tasks including landscaping, lawn care, and general maintenance, which are essential for the upkeep of the property. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are vital, as the quality of the grounds directly impacts the overall impression of the business. Ultimately, the Groundskeeper will help create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the values and professionalism of the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscaping preferred.
  • Experience with operating landscaping machinery and tools.
  • Knowledge of local plant species and landscaping techniques.
  • Knowledge of horticulture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular lawn maintenance including mowing, trimming, and edging to ensure a neat appearance.
  • Maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees through planting, pruning, and weeding as necessary.
  • Ensure all outdoor areas are free of debris and hazards, including litter removal and snow/ice management during winter months.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools safely and effectively.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
