About The Position

HealthPro Heritage is hiring a full-time Rehab Director in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, to lead therapy services in a skilled nursing and long-term care setting. The role is intended for an occupational therapist or physical therapist and is eligible for a rehabilitation director incentive bonus. The Rehab Director leads and supervises clinical therapy staff, maintains a clinical caseload, and ensures that therapy services meet quality and regulatory standards. The position oversees staffing and scheduling, documentation and assessment-period reporting, program development, community marketing, staff education, issue resolution, and safety and compliance practices. Requirements

Degree in a required discipline: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy Assisting, or Occupational Therapy Assisting.
Valid state licensure as a PT, OT, SLP, PTA, or COTA, or eligibility for licensure.
At least 3–5 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation or a related healthcare field.
Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary team of therapists and support staff.
Deep understanding of rehabilitation principles, practices, and patient care protocols.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, families, and stakeholders.
Effective decision-making and critical-thinking skills to address challenges and improve operations.
Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, resources, and budgets efficiently.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and other applicable laws.

Nice To Haves

Supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting, ideally in rehabilitation therapy.

Responsibilities

Directly manage and supervise clinical therapy staff, including hiring and performance appraisals, and foster a positive team atmosphere.
Monitor personnel compliance and credentials, and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
Maintain a clinical caseload and ensure high-quality therapy services in compliance with regulatory standards, including CARF and JCAHO.
Review therapy programs and services to assess their effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop strategies to expand therapy programs, build caseloads, and implement special initiatives such as fitness or dementia programs.
Lead marketing efforts with local hospitals, physicians, and the community to promote the therapy program.
Oversee patient and therapist scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
Track and report assessment-period data, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to Medicare and company guidelines.
Investigate and resolve patient-, staff-, or service-related issues through open communication and problem-solving.
Provide ongoing education and in-service training to staff and community members.
Maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations governing rehabilitation services.
Ensure a safe environment by complying with infection-control and OSHA standards and ensuring proper use of tools and equipment.
