Provides routine therapeutic services under the supervision of a therapist or therapist assistant. Responsibilities include providing routine services to patients as outlined in the department's scope of service, working under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. The role involves providing accurate written and/or verbal objective feedback and documentation of observations related to the patient’s response to activities, utilizing correct forms or system tools. This position also assists in training new employees and volunteers, observes patients during activity and reports responses to the therapist or therapist assistant, and maintains a safe and clean work environment. The Rehab Aide attends in-services and departmental or hospital meetings, assists with department quality control (equipment checks, temperature logs, cleaning checklists, etc.), and performs clerical duties as needed. Additionally, the role involves preparing equipment, rooms, and patients for therapy treatment, completing competencies, and transporting patients and supplies as needed. The Rehab Aide checks with other staff to offer assistance throughout the day and adheres to DCH Standards, including performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards. Compliance with the Employee Handbook and DCH Behavioral Standards is required, along with performing essential job functions in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors, and employees, identifying and reducing unsafe practices, and recognizing and taking appropriate action to reduce risks and hazards. The role requires the use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet, and adherence to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
