About The Position

The Rehabilitation Aide works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Registered Physical Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist. The role is responsible for assisting therapists, including PTAs and COTAs, in patient treatment, preparing the therapy area before and after therapy sessions, and transporting patients to and from the Therapy Department.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma - Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required within 90 Days
• Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off site locations as needed.
• Normal fine motor coordination, manipulation of small items, speaking clearly, input data.
• Normal strength, endurance and balance. Walking, standing, reaching, kneeling, crouching, moving, stooping, lifting.
• Pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
• Analysis, synthesis, long term and short term memory within normal limits; understand, explain, forecast, follow rules/instructions.
• Visual skills, feeling, and hearing.
• Minimal exposure to topical anesthetics, disinfectants, and body fluids.
• Exposure to extreme heat when using hydrocollators.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Preferred Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Assists therapist with treatment.
• Prepares, manages and updates patient assignment schedule.
• Transports patients to and from therapy.
• Orders supplies and laundry.
• Assists with patient scheduling and appropriate documentation.
• May assist nursing staff with bathing, toileting and dressing patients.
• Prepares treatment area.
• Other duties assigned.
