About The Position

The Regulatory Specialist owns label compliance and regulatory clearance for RYZE’s growing product portfolio, including mushroom coffees and new products across retail and direct-to-consumer channels. This brand-side role works closely with Research & Scientific Affairs to ensure products meet FDA dietary supplement and food labeling requirements, product claims are supported by available evidence, and launches receive regulatory review before reaching the market. • Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, a life science or health science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of regulatory experience at a consumer brand, dietary supplement company, or functional food company; brand-side experience is preferred over supplier- or manufacturer-side experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of FDA dietary supplement and food labeling regulations, including Supplement Facts requirements, structure/function claim standards, and the distinction between food and dietary supplement classification.
  • Collaborative communication skills, including the ability to translate regulatory complexity into practical guidance for cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong documentation instincts, and comfort working in a fast-moving product environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GRAS requirements for functional ingredients in food and beverage applications.
  • Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC).

Responsibilities

  • Review product labels, Supplement Facts panels, and packaging for compliance with FDA dietary supplement and food labeling regulations, including disclaimers, ingredient listings, net quantity, and structure/function claim standards.
  • Evaluate whether product and label claims are adequately substantiated by available evidence, working with Research & Scientific Affairs and the internal Claims Library.
  • Own regulatory clearance for new product launches by coordinating documentation, reviewing label copy, and completing compliance checklists for each new SKU.
  • Maintain and review channel-specific compliance for retailer and e-commerce listings, including Amazon Seller Central policies and retailer product setup requirements.
  • Review ingredient documentation, including supplier GRAS status, food-grade and supplement-grade certifications, and relevant specifications.
  • Monitor FDA warning letters and regulatory developments in functional foods and dietary supplements, and flag implications for RYZE’s claims, labeling, or product formulations.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Research & Scientific Affairs, and Quality to incorporate regulatory compliance into product workflows.
  • Maintain regulatory files, SOPs, and documentation standards, and support continuous improvement of the regulatory review process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
