Work directly with senior management to develop regulatory case filings and strategies that support the company's strategic goals and objectives. Consult with subject matter experts across the company to develop filings and strategies consistent with company goals, and work with regulatory case management teams to ensure filings align with those strategies. Prepare supporting testimony for regulatory proceedings, administrative rulemaking, and legislative hearings as needed, and coordinate regulatory compliance activities in assigned jurisdictions. The role develops, compiles, edits, and manages large, complex regulatory filings and supporting documents. It requires communicating complex issues clearly, identifying key facts and messages, maintaining document controls, incorporating stakeholder feedback as appropriate, and ensuring documents are concise, well-organized, and consistent with established style and formatting conventions. The specialist maintains a thorough understanding of Xcel Energy's regulatory structure and operating environment, advocates company positions with regulators and stakeholders, and communicates regularly with senior management and internal customers about filings and related issues. The specialist also supports multiple projects, works in a time-constrained environment, assists with discovery responses and witness testimony, and develops key messages and presentations for external agencies, legislative committees, and internal audiences. Occasional overnight travel and extensive overtime are required. The position supports Xcel Energy's hybrid work model; many roles work onsite Tuesday through Thursday, though expectations vary by role, team, and business needs.
