About The Position

The Regulatory Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with North American and European regulatory requirements related to Safety Data Sheets (SDS), hazard communication, labeling, transportation, and waste management. This role supports product compliance activities by conducting hazard assessments, preparing regulatory documentation, maintaining compliance databases, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, marketing, and sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, hazard communication, and chemical safety concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring and regulatory compliance is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP Product Compliance/EHS modules and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
  • French language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of North American (HazCom 2024, WHMIS 2022) and European (CLP) hazard communication regulations.
  • Assess, classify, and author Safety Data Sheets (SDS) using compliance management systems.
  • Prepare SDS documentation in multiple regional formats and languages as required.
  • Review raw material data, toxicology, and ecotoxicology information to determine proper mixture classifications.
  • Enter hazard information into compliance systems to support accurate product labeling.
  • Conduct transportation reviews to ensure proper classification of hazardous materials and dangerous goods, including packaging requirements.
  • Maintain internal hazard communication databases and regulatory records.
  • Perform audits to verify the accuracy and quality of hazard communication and transportation data.
  • Review and update SDS documentation received from contract manufacturers and third-party suppliers.
  • Provide internal guidance regarding hazard assessments, transportation classifications, and waste management requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of domestic and international chemical inventories and regulatory lists.
  • Support the development and revision of procedures related to SDS creation and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Maintain transportation certifications related to hazardous materials regulations.
