About The Position

This position is located in the Bureau of Motorist Compliance Medical Re-Exam section, is responsible for reviewing complaints received by the department regarding licensed drivers and applicants whose ability to drive is questionable due to a mental or physical impairment. This position will be required to process initial complaint and determines whether it is a medical case or to be sent for investigation. Additionally, this position is responsible for reexamination of drivers as determined by law enforcement, courts, and other authorized personnel. Responsible for making sure recommendations are made in accordance with guidelines and procedures and pertinent to the state statutes. Responsible for inquiries from customers, doctors, courts, field offices and other parties both written and by telephone. Responsible for managing a caseload in a very busy and fast past environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of driver license procedures, regulations, rules, and policies
  • Knowledge of DL maintenance
  • Knowledge of driver license records
  • Knowledge of Expert
  • Skilled in written and verbal communication
  • Skill in composing letters
  • Skill applying problem-solving techniques
  • Skill in researching and analyzing data
  • Skill in customer service
  • Ability to understand applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to research and apply problem solving techniques
