About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. This role focuses on addressing compliance issues across the University, with a particular emphasis on employees. The Specialist will be responsible for auditing, examining, and resolving compliance irregularities, as well as developing long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

  • Impeccable knowledge of regulation and skillful in enforcing regulation, rules, and code.
  • Investigated, auditing, and interviewing skills.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to unravel hidden records of the company.
  • Ability to tactfully ask helpful or meaningful questions.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to establish and manage relationships as well as influence decisions in the favor of GCU.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree.
  • Five years of experience in a relevant industry like regulatory consulting, auditing, law, ethics, organization business, EHS, statistical analysis, trainer, etc.
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a regulatory compliance specialist.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.

  • An advanced degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform regulatory compliance audits and safety checks to guarantee continuous regulatory compliance, as directed.
  • Relate with the entire hierarchy of employees to discuss regulations, standards, and company policies with the aim of providing training, as needed.
  • Responsible for the review of incident data and carry out root cause analysis to ascertain the cause.
  • Perform additional administrative and reporting duties related to regulatory requirements and safety metrics and maintain all records associated with compliance requirements.
  • Communicate up-to-date knowledge of current US and relevant international regulations relative to the University and its’ operations.
  • Conduct research to provide appropriate compliance recommendations, advice on upcoming regulations, and evaluating the overall impact on the University.
  • Ensure all permits and licenses are current.
  • Other duties as assigned.
