About The Position

The Regulatory Analyst, Scotiatrust, contributes to the overall success of Scotiatrust in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The role champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. It supports and participates in the development/sustainment/operations of the AML/QI/FATCA/CRS programs within Scotiatrust. The analyst supports the root cause analysis on data issues and collaborates with stakeholders on remediation activities. They review documentation supporting AML/QI/FATCA/CRS programs for all accounts, specifically: monthly reporting, annual expiries, annual refreshes, and certifications as required. The role involves reviewing existing documentation to ensure program effectiveness, tracking completion and remediation where required. It provides expertise and support to stakeholders on proper documentation and coding, and supports the development and monitoring of standards of fiduciary competence and risk management throughout the company. The analyst monitors and tracks returned mail, designated mailboxes, and standard AML/QI/FATCA/CRS and management reporting. Any other administrative or project-based duties as required. The role requires understanding how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. The analyst actively pursues effective and efficient operations of respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Requirements

  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of AML/QI/FATCA/CRS regulations and requirements

Responsibilities
